Debuting at No.1 on the Billboard 200, BTS has once again displayed their popularity in the U.S with their new EP Map of the Soul: Persona, which was released on April 12. This is less than a year after their previous album Love Yourself Answer, which is a repackage from their other two albums Love Yourself: Her and Love Yourself: Tear. All of these were distributed across the globe and were very successful.

Love Yourself: Answer sold two million copies in three months, while Map of the Soul had 2.6 million copies sell in presales alone by March. BTS is now the first group since the Beatles to have three No.1 albums in a 12-month period.

To add onto the achievements already mentioned, every track from their new album also debuted on the Billboard Top 40 Digital Songs Chart. Alongside this, BTS is currently traveling the U.S for their stadium tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself. The tour kicks off on May 4th at the Rose Bowl in California and will follow to Soldier Field in Chicago, New Jersey, and many European cities to follow, with their stop at Wembley Stadium selling out in 90 minutes. They are also were the first Asian artist to perform on Saturday Night Live which broke boundaries and they well represented their culture.

BTS was also nominated and had won two awards at the Billboard Music Awards for Best Social Artist for the third time in a row and for the first time branching out of the Best Social Artist category by winning Best Duo/Group which the group was not expecting to win as you could tell by their shocked faces as they announced their winning. At the award show they had also performed their title track Boy With Luv ft American pop- artist Halsey. This is also the first time the group had performed live with another artist and had an artist feature on their title track.

It seems as if the Korean pop group are only going up from here with their achievements and success. It has also been said by leader and front man RM that they, while on tour, are currently working on their newest album. Just like the city that never sleeps, the group never catches a break.
