A very successful and atypical season of competitive cheer is almost over. With many girls not coming back for the competitive season, the 2018-2019 season has been different to say the least. However, our John Glenn cheerleaders have been doing a fantastic job.

“We have been placing better than last year and we have been getting along very well as a team too!” sophomore Shannon Blevins stated. Hardworking and diligent girls have groomed the competitive cheer team into something very special this year.

Since many cheerleaders decided not to compete this season, there is only one senior on the team, Kayla Fawley. Kayla is also a captain along with juniors Madylin Johnson and Holly Kitchen.

“Being a leader to my teammates is something I am very proud of. It gives me the ability to help some of the younger girls who may not have ever been on a cheer team. I hope that I can show them by example that being on time, being consistent, and working hard will get them far in cheer and life,” senior Kayla Fawley stated.
