All the Bright Places centers around two teenagers: Violet Markey and Theodore Finch. Violet’s sister was killed in a car crash a few months before they met. Theodore, who goes by Finch, tries to help Violet get back out into the world by taking her to different places in Indiana for a school project.

All the Bright Places was truly an emotional roller coaster ride. Based on the novel by Jennifer Niven, the movie follows the same story. Being as the movie was based on the novel, many people were expecting a lot. Unfortunately, the movie didn’t quite capture all of the small details that readers loved. The characters were more than what the movie led to believe.

With that being said, there were many good things about All the Bright Places. The director, Brett Haley, did a wonderful job with the emotional aspect.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, 68 percent of people who watched the movie liked it. It’s only available to stream on Netflix. The movie was very moving and was able to make me feel emotions. Personally, I liked the movie, but it felt like there was something missing. I didn’t feel a connection with the characters as much as I had hoped to.
