In a 12-event swim meet on the Thursday of mid-winter break, the John Glenn swim team lost to the Stevenson swim team. John Glenn scored two first-place winners in four events, as well as a diving win and one student who qualified for state diving regionals.
Senior Trenton Arthur took first place in the 50 Freestyle event and the 100 Freestyle event. Senior Joe Lenard took first place in the 200 IM (Individual Medley) event and the 100 Freestyle event. Junior Raven Germain won in diving, and Sophomore Joey Nunez qualified for diving regionals. He was excited about the extension to his season. “Now my season doesn’t end today, it ends next week,” said Nunez.
As of Feb. 29, the swim team has finished their season with a meet against Belleville High School and Novi High School. “I think that it went great,” said Senior Jalen Moss. “The energy was out there and, overall as a team, we had a great season.”
