Birds of Prey

Set to be released Feb 7, Birds of Prey is the successor to 2016’s Suicide Squad following the character Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie. The plot is centered around Quinn and the Joker splitting up after having a relationship throughout Suicide Squad. She then allies herself with superheroes Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montaya in order to save a young girl according to the website imdb.

Before Suicide Squad introduced Quinn, the concept of Birds of Prey started out in DC comics like Justice League, in a 1996 one-shot written by writer Chuck Dixon. Originally, the collaboration was between Barbara Gordon (who played Batgirl for a short time before adopting the identity Oracle) and Dinah Lance (Black Canary). From 1996 to the present, the team known as Birds of Prey has been modified.

Yet with early screenings of its latest adaptation, with Twitter user Griffin Schiller saying “#BirdsofPrey is one word: FUN!” It’s clear that 2020 is doing something for this new adaptation.
